Welcome to Language Arts!
Welcome to 8A English/Language Arts with Miss David! My goal is to successfully educate and inspire your youth to become readers and writers.
Language Arts Curriculum:
- Reading: Reading workshops that focus on vocabulary, literary terms, genres, comprehension, reader's craft, author's craft and preparation for State Reading. Students will be expected to read outside the classroom.
- Writing: Writer's workshops that focus on the 6 traits of writing, modes/genres of writing, revision/editing + preparation for State Writing.
- Speaking/Listening: Literature circles, socratic circles, small group work, presentations, and listening comprehension.
- Multiple Literacy: film, presentations, projects, research, Internet, etc.
- Grammar/conventions
