Digital Media

DIGITAL MEDIA 7
In this one semester magnet course the students study digital media topics including video, text, and graphics. Students will learn to use various software packages for creating desktop publishing documents. Additionally, students will create and enhance still graphics, plan audiovisual productions, and create and organize productions using various software packages. 


DIGITAL MEDIA 8

In this one semester course students will enhance their understanding of digital media related concepts and skills.  Various software packages such as Adobe PhotoShop, and Macromedia DreamWeaver will be used in the design and development of graphics, and web-based documents.  Real world application of these skills, along with career paths, will also be discussed.  Prerequisite: Digital Media 7.

DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION 8

In this year-long course students will enhance their understanding of digital media related concepts and skills through the development and maintenance of the school web site.  Various software packages such as Adobe PhotoShop, and Macromedia DreamWeaver and Flash will be used in the design and development of graphics, computer animation, and web-based documents. Students will explore the impact of digital media in today’s society and research careers related to the field.  Prerequisite: Digital Media 7.

Student Recognition

8th grade Digital Media students took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Nebraska Educational Technology Association's 2006-2007 graphic arts contest.

An 8th grade Digital Media student won 3rd place in the Nebraska Education Technology Association's 2007-2008 graphic arts contest.

8th Grade Digital Media students have been recognized for their involved in two Service Learning projects.  The Love's Jazz and Art Museum project during 2005-2006 and the Bethesda After School Academy project in 2006-2007.

8th grade Digital Media students took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Nebraska Educational Technology Association's 2006-2007 graphic arts contest.
