Background Information:  Hello my name is Dustin Rothe and this is my fourth year teaching U.S. History at Bryan Middle School.  I attended Millard South High School here in Omaha and then went on to attend Dana College in Blair Nebraska on a baseball scholarship.  I then transferred to the University of Nebraska at Kearney from where I received my degree in both History and Physical Education.

Social Studies: In social studies, the students will study the time period from the Declaration of Independence (1776) all the way through the Progressive and Populist movement (1914).  Along this journey of the past, the students will focus on 4 content standard CRT's over 9 major topics.  They will also read a novel each semester dealing with one of these 9 points and create two different projects dealing with culture.

Athletics: I am coaching at Bryan High School as the head junior varsity wrestling coach, and head junior varsity baseball coach. I feel that after school programs can play an integral role in a students academic successes therefore I would recommend the students joining some sort of after school activity.
