About Mr. Miller

Mr. Miller was born and raised in Omaha and went to Bryan Jr-Sr High School before the new Bryan High was built.  He went to UN-Lincoln for 2 years and was a member of the Cornhusker Marching Band.  He holds Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees from UN-Omaha.  He began teaching in 1975 and has been in the Omaha Public Schools since 1983.  Before coming to Bryan Middle School three years ago, he was director of instrumental music at Monroe Middle School,  Benson High School, and South High School.  He has received the Nebraska Music Educator's Association "Music Educator of the Year" award for his work at South High School, and the Omaha Chamber of Commerce "Fine Arts Educator of the Year" award, also for his work at South.  He is a member and director of the Prairie Rose Ensemble, a volunteer community music ensemble which plays concerts for civic organizations and area retirement centers.  His wife Karen teaches elementary vocal music in OPS, and they have three sons and 3 grandchildren.
