In 1994, the Omaha Public Schools began implementation of the EXCELS process, an accreditation model focused on student achievement and participation in school and learning.  The current cycle (2005 - 2010) includes the following goals:

Goal 1:  All students will increase reading comprehension skills across the curriculum.

Goal 2:  All Students will improve writing across the curriculum

Goal 3:  All students will improve problem-solving skills across the curriculum.

Goal 4:  All students will demonstrate respect and responsibility for others in the learning environment and school activities.
