Student Council
Northwest High School currently has a student council of 50 members. All of the members have completed an application and met the criteria of a 2.5 G.P.A. and excellent teacher and administrator recommendations. Northwest’s student council is an open council meaning that students interested in promoting Husky Pride are able to participate without being voted on to the council.
 
Currently, we have four elected officers who are listed below:
  President: Nicole Jones
  Vice Pres: Emily Smith
  Secretary: Suzi Eberly
  Historian: Brittany Bagshaw

 Student Council's Events Throughout The Year

Freshmen Orientation Day August 17, 2009

Husky Pals are chosen Northwest students who act as guides, friends, and role models to the first-year freshmen. Husky Pals are interested in ensuring that freshmen have a successful academic and extra-curricular experience during their first year at Omaha Northwest High School. The Husky Pal serves as a guide for incoming freshmen students, offering benefits such as:

  • A supportive school relationship with a friendly face and kind words of encouragement
  • Answers and resources for questions and concerns about school
  • A resource for Northwest clubs, activities, and extra-curricular events
  • Check with the freshmen at progress reports and offer study tips and peer tutoring
  • Help the incoming freshmen transition from middle school to high school

Freshmen Elections September 8, 2009 - Northwest has an open council and allows all students interested in participation to take an active roll.
