 On Saturday Feb. 23rd, at the Doorly Zoo, the Husky Science Olympiad team competed against 10 other teams in the Regional Science Olympiad. The team entered 21 events and came home with the following ribbons: 1st place Food Science team of Aaron Estep and Jake Nelson; 2nd place Boomilever team of Tolu Faokunla and Bennet Pertiller; 3rd place Rocks and Minerals team of Ryan Atwood and Temi Faokunla; and 3rd place Gravity Vehicle team of Jake Nelson and Tolu Faokunla. Way to go team! The team will continue preparing for the state tournament in Lincoln at UNL on Saturday April 20.

At high school the mileage is greater than 3 miles for North, Northwest and South. For students selecting a transfer school (non-home attendance), their socioeconomic status (free/reduced lunch eligibility) is used to determine priority in school selection and transportation. Justice Thomas Visit to Northwest Magnet

Justice Clarence Thomas chats with a student before his presentation at Omaha Northwest High School on Friday. Thomas spoke to a crowd of about 60, including about 45 Northwest students who wrote papers for the chance to hear him.
