The Omaha North High School Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt organization, incorporated in 1992, to provide scholarships to graduating seniors and improved educational opportunities for all students at North High School. The Foundation is a publicly supported organization, sponsored by the Vikings of Distinction Committee (VDC), the North High Alumni Booster Organization (ABO), and the Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA). Each organization elects two representatives for the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
Donations to the Foundation are placed in a permanent endowment. Only the interest earned on those gifts can be used to make grants and scholarships. Contributions will work forever, producing income of far greater value than the original gifts and will support the needs of future generations of Vikings.
SCHOLARSHIPS - Funded through gifts or memorials to be awarded to graduation seniors to further their post-high school educational goals. A minimum of 75% of the income from the fund must be used for scholarships.
EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT - The remaining income from the fund may be used to finance grants for improved educational opportunities for the students of North High School.
1. Direct gifts of cash or securities. 2. Memorial gifts to honor a deceased relative or friend. 3. Special gifts designated for a specified area of support - minimum of $10,000. 4. Gift by will. 5. Deferred gifts through bequests, trusts or life insurance policies. 6. Matching Gifts - Check with your employer to see if your corporation participates in a matching gift program.
