Summer Programs - Aeronautics - Grade 6

June 15 - 26, 2009 - 8:30am - 11:50 AM

This camp is for current 6th graders and focuses on aerodynamics, rockets and space flight. Model airplanes and rockets will be constructed and flown. Students are given the opportunity to pilot/navigate an airplane from Blair Municipal Airport with an EAA Young Eagles Pilot. Also scheduled is a visit by the Midwest Performance flyers. Students will also utilize computer aided design software and prepare a multimedia marketing plan. Thanks to a generous contribution by the Society of Mechanical Engineers Education Foundation, campers this year will complete a "Glider Reverse Engineering" project. At the conclusion of camp, participants will receive a camp T-shirt and a CD slideshow of camp photographs.
