Spotlight On...FFA
On November 16, 2007, fourteen FFA members staged a "Medical Entomology" event at Lothrop Elementary's Family Night. We set the scene to include 4 medical examining rooms – each with a “sick” patient that needed a disease diagnosis. Our “doctors” led Lothrop students through each room so that they could examine & interview the patients in order to gain information for diagnosis of their disease. Finally, the students matched their exam sheets to posters that showed geographical information about the diseases, as well as the vectors (insects) for transmission. The children then received a special certificate from “The Wee Beastie School of Medicine!”
FFA is one of the many clubs and organizations available to students at North.
