Success at JETS Competition!

The Omaha North High Engineering Magnet JETS Team will be representing North High and the State of Nebraska at the National Level.

The Engineering Magnet sent twenty-five students to compete in the annual Junior Engineering Technical Society challenge (JETS) Team regional and national competition. Twenty five teams from Nebraska competed in this region. North divided into two varsity and two junior varsity teams. The day long competition produced a first place regional champion from North and a second place junior varsity winner. The first place winner automatically goes on to the national competition which will be judged and reported later this year.

The winning varsity North High team consisting of; Tessa Phillips, Caleb Peterson, Ed Hubbs, Crystine McGill, Ben Kammerer, Tailla Straun, and Steve Brooner became a second year first place winner. Last year the team took first place in the junior varsity division and went on to place sixteenth nationally.

The junior varsity team of Kathleen Talbot, Zachary Duncan, Zachary Scott, Matthew Garder, Trevor Jaixen, and Rashad Irwin-Ingram received a commendable second place in the region. This was the first time this team competed together and they learned a great deal about the method of the competition.

Members representing North at the varsity level are; Lucas Thode, Tyler Borcyk, Dylan White, Meng Lo, Alex Forbes, Rohan Dash, Tessa Phillips, Caleb Peterson, Ed Hubbs, Crystine McGill, Ben Kammerer, Tailla Strawn, and Steve Brooner.
