Seventy-one students from nearly 40 high schools across the state have been honored with a "Nebraska Young Artist Award."  Omaha North High Magnet School students Brad "Leroy" Meyer, Dan "Pistachio" Hawkes, and Andrew "Luigi" Saure from our Music and Media Technology program have been selected for their talents in music technology and new media.  The Nebraska Young Artist Awards annually recognize 11th grade students who are gifted and talented in the areas of visual art, dance, music and theatre. These students exemplify the pinnacles of creativity in one of the fine and performing arts.  The students will be honored with a day of activities and an awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at UNL.

Omaha North High Magnet School had the highest number of students selected as young artists of all metro high schools.
