Congratulations go out to Marco Lorenzo, Allison Clark, and Alissa Anderson.  Their PSA (public service announcement), "Cyber Bully" earned second place in the journalism/broadcasting competition sponsored by the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Music and Media Technology students accepted the award at a ceremony on Thursday, April 24 at UNO.

Congratulations to Tyler Borcyk, Tessa Phillips and Dylan White for their 2nd place poster entry for the Magnet Schools of America national conference being held in Chattanooga, TN next week.  The group received $75.00 for their efforts.

Congratulations to Brian S. for his performance in the Nebraska Special Olympics.  Brian placed 1st in the 50 meter slalom,  1st in the 50 meter obstacle course and 1st in the  200 (50 meters each) relay ... so 4 X 50 meter relay, and he was the anchor man.

14 The American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers has selected five North students as District finalists in their Multi-Media Cometition for High School Students competition.  Recall that these students were selected in March as the top 5 in the State, which qualified them for the District competition.  Judging is currently underway to choose 3 finalists, who will present their work at a national location.

1st Place went to Chris Wallace, who earned a cash award of $150

2nd Place went to Christa Webber, who earned a cash award of $100

3rd Place went to Christina Oliver, who earned a cash award of $50

4th Place went to Mark Bodnar

5th Place went to Taylor Armstrong

9 The North High NEVTC Power Driving Racer team participated at the "Hastings Time Trials" on the 5th of May and place 3rd in the advanced class.  On the 6th we went to Lincoln for the "Lincoln Invitational" there we placed 4th in the exhibition class and secured a second place trophy for the advanced class with Dan Concannon at the wheel, this weekend produced fantastic results. We're looking forward to the next races.  Give a big congratulation to Dan ConcannonShawn Gantz, Walter Bircher, and T.J. Sass.

8 Please congratulate our Science Olympiad team of Daniel Geschwender, Megan Uehling, Bi Nguyen, Katie Porter and Stephen Simusa who participated in the State Science Olympiad competition in Lincoln on Saturday, April 5.  They bring home a 4th place medal in the Quiz Bowl event.  Final team standings are not yet available,

Please congratulate the following students for their outstanding performance in the University of South Dakota Computer Programming Contest:

    The team of Cory Weiner and Skyler Lewis for a second place finish.

    The team of Dan Geschwender and Darin Bierbaum for a fourth place finish.

They did a remarkable job for their first time entering this competition

Congratulations to Jessica Powell earned 2nd Place in the division of Environmental Management at the Greater Nebraska Science and Engineering Fair in Nebraska City!

Congratulations to Chris Wallace, Christa Webber, Christina Oliver, Taylor Armstrong, & Mark Bodnar, all of whom were entered into a multi-media contest from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers that  each was selected as one of the TOP five entries in the State of Nebraska! 

Their entries will now move forward to compete in District-level judging, which positions them for cash awards & the potential to move on to the National level.
