Title I School Parent Involvement Policy

Central High School intends to follow the parental policy guidelines in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 as listed below. The policy and the plan to implement it have been developed jointly and in agreement with, and will be distributed to parents/guardians of students in Title I.
- Parents are involved in the planning, review and improvement of the school’s Parental Involvement Policy through:
- Collaboration during the welcome meeting for families
- Feedback requested during phone calls and/or face-to-face contacts
- Information available on the Central website
- Annual meetings are held to inform parents of the school’s participation in the Title I program.
- Meeting for parents during fall parent-teacher conferences
- Information station during spring parent-teacher conferences
- Parent meetings are held at different times during the day.
- Multiple sessions available during conferences for families to obtain information
- Appointments available during the day with instructional or leadership team members
- Parent(s)/guardian(s) are actively invited to observe sessions where services are being delivered
- Title I funds may be used to pay reasonable and necessary expenses associated
with parent involvement activities, including transportation, childcare or home visit expenses, to enable parents to participate in school related meetings and training sessions.
· Childcare, translation services and transportation available for parent activities
· Home visits may take place for purposes such as forming school/family compacts
· Fund allocated for Sunday World Herald subscriptions and supporting lessons are provided
- Parents are involved in the planning, review and improvement of the school’s
Title I program.
· Feedback solicited through Climate Survey and parent meetings
· Feedback accepted through email, phone and personal visits
- The parents are involved in the joint development of the Schoolwide Program
Plan, when the school is eligible for the Schoolwide Program.
· Serve on the planning development team
- The parents receive timely information about the Title I program.
· Fall Curriculum Night- explain Title I Schoolwide Program
· School newsletter
· Title I School/Family Compact
· School/district website
- The parents of participating children receive a description and explanation of the
Curriculum in use at school, the forms of academic assessment and how to measure student progress, and the proficiency levels students are expected to meet.

· Regular phone contact between teachers and families
10. The school will provide assistance to parents of participating children with a
description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the school, the forms of
academic assessment used to measure student progress and the proficiency levels
students are expected to meet.

11. The school provides parents with opportunities for regular meetings to
formulate suggestions and to participate in decisions relating to the education of
their children.
· Parent-teacher conferences
· School-wide planning meetings
· Opportunities available at meetings for families to interact with their students and the content they are learning
· Families can “meet” with teachers using email and phone contacts with a face-to-face interaction proves inconvenient for them
12. A school-parent compact was jointly developed with parents, and the compact
outlines how parents, the entire school staff and students share in the responsibility for improved student achievement.
