Our Mission

The mission of JROTC is
"To Motivate Young People to Become Better Citizens"
Battalion Profile
JROTC stands for Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. Cadets learn important skills, such as leadership, citizenship, teamwork, self-discipline, and self confidence. We practice year-round for the various competitions taking place throughout the academic school year. Besides competitions, the Bulldog Battalion participates in many school and community-based activities.
Heading the Bulldog Battalion are two very talented and knowledgeable instructors, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Jeff Flagg and MasterSergeant(Ret) Richard Matthews. Along with the instructors we have a full
cadet staff with Cadet MAJ N. Valderrabano as this year's Battalion Commander.
The Bulldog Battalion is 180 cadets strong this year. We always encourage enrollment in the program to Burke's prospective students and newcomers unsure of what JROTC is about.
