Introduction to Information Technology
COURSE TITLE: Introduction to Information Technology 1 & 2
PREREQUISITES: S.T.A.R.S. or F.A.C.T.S.
DURATION: 1 year
CREDIT: 1 credit per semester
GRADE: 10-12
DESCRIPTION: This is a one year program that introduces students to the broad career opportunites in today's digital workforce and, in the process, equips them with the personal, analytical, technical and communications skills they need to thrive. Students will be involved in classroom instruction and laboratory exploration. Besides these 2 courses, students are encouraged to also take Java Computer Programming, Honors Database Concepts, Honors Web Site Management, and Multimedia.
Java 1 and 2: Computer Programming
COURSE TITLE: Java 1 & 2
PREREQUISITES: S.T.A.R.S. or F.A.C.T.S., a grade of A, B, or C in Algebra 1-2, Geometry 1-2 or concurrent enrollment.
DURATION: 1 year
CREDIT: 1 credit per semester
GRADE LEVEL: 10,11,12
DESCRIPTION: This foundation course will introduce students to the skills and concepts of Java programming. Students will learn to design programs properly, analyze a problem statement, express its essence abstractly, and with examples. This course focuses on problem solving and on the reinforcement of important algebraic skills.

Multimedia
COURSE TITLE: Multimedia
PREREQUISITES: None
DURATION: 1 semester
CREDIT: 1 credit
GRADE: 10-12
DESCRIPTION: Multimedia focuses on the production and creation of interactive multimedia presentations using various software packages. Included in the course will be the use of scanners, and digital and video cameras. Students will learn how to import and edit sound, create and manipulate graphic images, and import and edit video. Emphasis will be placed on design and layout.

Databases
COURSE TITLE: Honors Database Concepts
PREREQUISITES: None
DURATION: 1 semester
CREDIT: 1 credit
GRADE LEVEL: 11,12
DESCRIPTION:Students are introduced to the basic concepts of relational database engines and the tools to use them. Database concepts of tables, rows, indexes, constraints, triggers, SQL syntax, and storage are presented.
Web Site Development
COURSE TITLE: Honors Web Site Mangement
PREREQUISITES: Multimedia, or Java 2
DURATION: 1 semester
CREDIT: 1 credit
GRADE LEVEL: 11,12
DESCRIPTION: This course expands the student's knowledge in multimedia elements such as graphics, sound, animation, and video. Students will learn detailed concepts in web page development and management and will be responsible for designing, updating, uploading, and maintianing a web site.
