Outdoor Club
Description: The mission of the Outdoor Club is to take an active role in preserving and embracing the environment. The Outdoor Club will provide recognized leadership in the school and community while providing opportunities for students, staff, and othes to borrow what nature has graciously loaned.
Requirements
- Parental Permission
- 2.5 GPA
- Service to the Community
Service Activities: One major purpose of the Outdoor Club is to provide opportunities for students to give back to the community and help preserve the integrity and substance of the environment. This will serve as an extra tool for them when applying for jobs, college, or whatever avenue they choose to embark upon after high school. Students will participate in volunteer activities similar, but not limited to:
- Park cleanups
- Campus cleanups
- Agricultural donations (planting trees, shrubbery, flowers, etc.)
- Assisting the Humane Society
- Recycling
- Assisting the elderly with yard work
- "Green" tips for the Bear Necessities newsletter

Activities: Over the course of the year, meetings will be held on a regular basis where service-learning projects and major/minor excursions will be planned. In order for one to participate in the major activities, one must participate in the service activities. The Club will plan three major activities over the course of the year which will require travel.
