EXCELS PLUS High School Accreditation

Excels Plus High School Accreditation

Excels Plus is an accreditation model focused on student achievement and participation in school and learning. Schools complete a series of steps on the process that leads to the implementation of a Strategic Plan. The plan for each school focuses on three important learning goals developed by a building.

During the summer of 2005, eighteen teachers met to assess  test data and climate survey results from the Bryan High School 2004/2005 school years. The team also looked at the mission statement and vision statement for revisions. Four building goals were determined based on the data to be implemented throughout the 2010 school year.

Below is our Excels Plus 2005-2010 school-wide Strategic Plan:

Mission Statement

The mission of Bryan High School is to provide a safe and secure educational environment which enables all students to achieve their highest potential.

Vision Statement

Bryan High School will be a recognized leader in meeting the educational needs of all students, providing new opportunities and empowering students, staff, and community to actualize their own visions in a safe environment.

Building Goals

  1. Communication
All students will improve writing skills across the curriculum.
  2. Math/Science
All students will improve problem-solving skills across the curriculum.
  3. Wellness
All students and staff will demonstrate healthy choices and awareness throughout the curriculum.
  4. Safe and Secure Climate
All students will demonstrate respect and responsibility for others in the learning environment and school activities.

At the end of each school year, the committee will analyze the test data and climate survey to look at the progress made toward our building goals.
