Coraline’s parents work all the time and she has no friends to play with plus she’s the only child. So wouldn’t she wish she could go somewhere where she is the center of everybody’s attention? Her dream comes true… sort of.

Coraline (Dakota Fanning) is about a little animated girl who moved to Oregon from Michigan. Ever since her family moved there, her parents don’t have time to spend with Coraline, so she sets out on her own to find some excitement. At her new home, she meets her elderly neighbors, Mr. Bobinsky (Ian McShane), the acrobat jumping mouse trainer and Miss Spink and Forcible (Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French), the actresses. Along the way she meets an interfering boy, Wybie (Robert Bailey Jr.) and his cat (voiced by Keith David). Even after meeting all these people, Coraline still wasn’t happy.
Later on, Coraline finds a little door in the living room and was curious to find where it leads to. When night came, she opened the door and crawl into the world of her dreams, where life revolves around her. Coraline’s “other” parents in her dream world would loved her and showered her with all the cakes and cookies that she ever wanted. It’s a dream come true, but little did she know that she is in great danger by entering the dream.
Coraline was an okay movie; I fell asleep for five minutes into it. Honestly, I think that this movie isn’t for little kids. The background music was creepy and the images were scary. If I were a little child going in to see this movie, I would’ve cried.
Overall, Coraline deserves a three and a half star out of five stars because of its background music and its images that might scare children away.

This movie was good, at times. I do agree however that some images may be disturbing. Unlike most children's movies, this was aimed at a slightly more mature audience. The creator of this movie who also did "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "The Corpse Bride" aimed this movie at teenagers. The subject of the movie was sometimes we need to watch what we take for granted. Anyway, nice article, keep up the good work!
