I’m back for part two!!!!! That last list was fun was it not? Anyway this list is going to be about the best video game characters of the past two generations, PSone and 2, Xbox, Dreamcast, GameCube, etc. (Note: characters mat repeat depending on popularity)

10. Crash Bandicoot

Crash was just one of those guys you did not get. He looked a bit like a drug addict and was constantly smiling, but this kind of made him edgy in a weird way. Aside from Crash’s appearance and possible leisure activities he had some of the best platforming games out there. It also harkened back to the old school days where one hit ended your adventure.

9. Prince of Persia

While on the topic of good platforming why not talk about Prince of Persia. When first introduced it was revolutionary in way the main character moved. Something about it seemed fluid and natural. That translated into his leap onto the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube. The prince hit last gen systems with acrobatic moves, combat, and a new time rewind feature that saved those people with shaky hands and bad depth perception. Ha… gaming and bad depth perception.

8. Chris Redfield

Chris Redfield… is a beast. When you choose to play as him in Resident Evil he goes to explore the mansion with just a hunting knife. A hunting knife. Could you go into a mansion with just a hunting knife and fight zombies? Didn’t think so. You could always go back to the main room and get a gun, but Chris was too beast for that.

7. Kazuya

If you don’t play Tekken or haven’t really paid much attention to the story you might not know about Kazuya. Those of you who know about Kazuya know of his fighting style. It’s not dirty, but it’s not soft either. Kazuya has been in basically every Tekken game besides 3 and has died or been close to death lord knows how many times. The only downside to Kazuya is that he isn’t the best father.

6. Kasumi

Ok those of us who play DOA can say that they play for the awesome fighting, but you can’t say there isn’t another reason. The Dead or Alive series is know for it’s great fighting engine, but it’s know even better for the, how shall I phrase this, voluptuousness of the female characters. Kasumi being one of the better shaped of them all. Yeah attractive women always seem to sell games pretty well.

5. Sepiroth

He has either left a hole in your heart or gained your admiration. He is the one winged angel and has an odd knack for ruining peoples touching moments. We all remember how he crashed through the ceiling and…and…killed Aeris. The man is evil at its purest that’s for sure, but something about him is just cool. So cool that the murder of an innocent surprisingly didn’t make you feel that bad. Just saying

4. Lara Croft

Lara is nowhere near the first lady of gaming, but you can’t help, but feel like she made a milestone in the gaming industry. Whenever you play as Lara you feel like a sexy Indiana Jones. I feel oh so wrong typing that, but that’s the only explorer I can really compare her to. She was a combination of firepower, acrobatics, and fearlessness and had two pistols with unlimited ammo for all that shooting of wild animals.

3. Kratos

Kratos, testosterone in the shape of a Spartan warrior, had one of the most violent and emotionally pleasing adventures ever. Emotionally pleasing because when you had a tough day at the office or at school slamming someone’s head into a rock surface multiple times. You can’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Kratos was also probably one of the first video game protagonists to have the sheer audacity to start a fight with the Greek gods themselves.

2. Pyramid Head

The only video game character you can’t kill. His only objective is to roam Silent Hill in search of people to skin alive and drag around. He can’t even see you, he just knows you’re there and when he does, he’s going to drag that big sword of his over to you and after that who knows. Most people assume you just die.

1.

1. Master Chief

The one character that came with a game that refined the FPS formula. Master Chief basically took on an entire alien invasion all by himself, but that’s ok. The chief doesn’t believe in teamwork, he’s all about finishing the fight and doing whatever it is he does in his free time.
