This week’s local artist is a self proclaimed “white rapper’ from LaVista Nebraska. His name is DavieBoi and he has been rapping for over 10 years. DavieBoi, who’s real name is Davey Shaefer said that he started making music to get his point across.
“I was always the type of person that had his own point of view but I never had a way to share my opinions so I thought why not music?”
Besides having his personal reasons, DavieBoi also started making music to help people.
“I also love helping people with the problems they face throughout life so I make music about the pain and struggles I face to let them know that they’re not alone”, said Shaefer.
DavieBoi has an interesting perspective on music and his favorite thing about making it.
“I love the effect it can have on my listeners. The power of music is so amazing because it can alter your emotions. It can make you sad one minute then happy the next. Its crazy how music can do that to people and it feels great knowing that I can be a part of that”, said Shaefer.
As is the case with many music artists, DavieBoi’s family members are some of his biggest supporters.
“They all love my music and they’re all happy that I found something in my life that can actually take me somewhere”, said Shaefer.
Along with his family members, his biggest supporters also include his friends and of course his fans.
“They show me so much love and support by letting me know how much they enjoy my music and how it has changed their life”.
DavieBoi is well on his way to becoming a major rapper. He is currently in negotiations with Slip and Slide records, the label that has signed many big names including Rick Ross and Plies.
“My manager is working on a deal with them right now so I’m basically just sitting back and waiting”, said Shaefer.
It is clear to see that DavieBoi has big dreams and is making them come true by working hard and doing something that he loves.
“I don’t want to be known as just another rapper, I want to be known as the rapper that changed the world”, said Shaefer.
