Your wedding day is the day when you get all dressed up and marry the one you love and are going to spend the rest of your life with and standing beside you will be your best friend. Sounds like a perfect wedding, right? Now, what if you and your best friend are having a wedding on the same day, same time, and same place and neither one of you are going to switch dates?
Liv, played by Kate Hudson, and Emma, played by Anne Hathaway, were best friends since they were little and had always dreamed of the perfect wedding. One was suppose to be the other’s bride’s maid of honor and until her turn, the other will returned the favor. Liv and Emma got engaged at different times but, mistakenly were put down for the same date, same time, and same place for their wedding and since it has been their life-long dream to get married one day at the Plaza Hotel. Neither one of them are going to switch dates.
What happens to a situation like this? It leads to trouble and drama. With neither one of them switching their wedding dates, their inner bridezilla comes out. Liv is a successful lawyer who has the perfect job, the perfect man and wants a perfect wedding and will not take no for an answer while Emma is a teacher who cares for others and discovers a side of her that she had never knew before. Ever since, their wedding got booked on the same date, their friendship started to fall apart with each one of them having to find a new maid of honor.
Liv were receiving chocolates and cookies that was supposedly from her fiancé but little did she knew that it was Emma and her plan was to make Liv gain weight so that she does not fit into her wedding dress. The moment Liv founded out it was not her fiancé, after gaining 5 pounds. She fought back by switching Emma’s tanning spray with an over dose that made Emma’s skin turned orange. The bride war has officially begun.
Bride Wars will have the audience laughing at its hilarious scenes with Hudson and Hathaway doing cruel things to each other just like the examples that I gave you. If you thought that was funny, there are more that will have you cracking up. In the end, you will find a surprising ending that you would have never thought of.
Bride Wars is a chick flick that a group of friends or a mother and daughter will surely enjoy. Hudson and Hathaway’s acting were amazing. You could tell that they had fun on the set with each other. It is one of those movies that will make you smile when you walk out of the theater.
Overall, I enjoyed Bride Wars, I will give it two thumbs up. It runs for an hour and thirty minutes long so if your girlfriend or a friend drags you into it, you will not have to sit there for a long time, you might actually like it.
