“Whoosh,” number 21 catches the football and makes a touchdown for Benson,” said the announcer, “And the bunnies take home the gold for state!” Everywhere you look, the colors green, black, and white rock the stands and
happiness fills the bunnies faces.
That is what Varsity number 21 sophomore, Martel White, dreams of for the upcoming football season.
“I want to go to state because we got a good class,” said White “And also, I’m good at it, I made 6 touchdowns in the season.”
White’s positions in football are receiver and free safety. Along with that, he just can’t get enough of football.
“It’s the best sport in the world,” said White “I get to tackle people and hit them as hard as I can.”
Tackling and getting down and dirty is what White enjoys best but, what doesn’t he like about football?
“I mean there’s nothing to not like about football,” chuckled White “Like I said, it’s the best sport ever.”
In the past, Benson’s football team has had many struggles and the students do not have much faith in them, but this year, White wants to prove them wrong.
“I know we did kind of bad last year but not this year though”, said White “This year is a whole new beginning. We just need to work hard and give it all a 100 percent.”
