The remaining thoughts of previous games, the mocking in the faces, the unending jokes about the team, the constant thinking that coming games will be losses. These are everyday occurrences that every member of the football team goes through. Tonight that is all about to change, though.
Benson versus South is tonight’s matchup. There are big expectations for this game from everybody; from Coach Heuertz and the team to the crowds in the stands. There is so much talk about this being Benson’s first football win of the season. According to the HighSchoolSports.net Matchup, Benson should win over South with the score being 18-6. The team is ready for this new break and they know just what they need to do to clutch this win tonight.
“The main thing that we have to do is execute,” says sophomore Paul Morrow.

Everyone is really excited and ready to cheer on the team tonight. The coaches and team are ready to play their hearts out and the fans are ready to scream their throats out.
“I’m super excited,” says Morrow, “I know the whole team, including the coaches, are all pumped up and ready to win.”
The team will have to work really hard. They want to be able to show the school that they aren’t just a losing team. But, with all that work they will have to hear a lot from their coaches and play up to their expectations.
“I know he has high standards for the game,” says Morrow. “He tells every practice that either we get better or worse… tonight we get better!”
The team might be ready to get out there and play, but, they are going to need a lot of encouragement from the school, both the teachers and the students. So everyone will have to try their hardest to get out there and support them. The team will probably feel better and more encouraged if everyone does.
“I think we’ll be more encouraged if a larger crowd comes,” says Morrow, “We will know that we have people behind us to cheer us on and congratulate us after our win!”
The team needs as much encouragement as it can get tonight, whether it be through encouragement in the halls or by you being there at the game. The school has been great with doing that so far and we just need to keep that going through tonight and next week’s game.
“I want to say to the school, right now we have a great student section going and we need to keep it that way,” says Morrow, “Then to the team, let’s just come out and play our game and play to our highest ability.”
