Rock music, America made it sweet and now China is adding a little of their own flavor to the mix.
I just happened to be looking at CNN.com to look for some stories for world update but I was having a heck of a time finding anything worth writing about. Then I clicked on the entertainment section and I came across a video on Rock music in China that was conducted by Talk Asia, a program that keeps people updated on what is going on in Asia news wise.
Being a fan of Underground Rock Music myself I was interested in finding out some more about what is going on in China. While watching the video and looking at how the rock scene in China compares to that of America I was very impressed at how similar the two are. Obviously the way the lyrics can be difficult to comprehend, but besides that the way they perform on stage and the way that they present themselves along with the style of music they play is a lot like how today’s American rockers go about their music. Also, their lyrics can be related to a lot of the content in songs written by American bands.
The scene of Underground Rock is raising quickly in China’s society but I would have to say that it will take a while for China’s Rock to reach the popular mark like that of America simply because of the two very different cultures. America is obviously a free country so a lot of today’s bands put their own opinions into what they write their songs about. With the way China’s government runs it will be a heck of a long time before many people are introduced to the world of rock in China. But that is not stopping the bands of China’s Underground community who insist they don’t care how many people get into it just as long as they are having fun.
