Alice Buffett Teacher Award

The Susan T. Buffett Foundation recognizes fifteen exceptional teachers in the Omaha Public Schools with a $10,000 award.  Nomination forms and information on the award and past recipients can be found here.  If you feel as if an Omaha North teacher or counselor is worthy of this award, we encourage you to complete a nomination form.

Course Syllabi

A standardized course syllabus is now available for most, if not all, classes taught at North.  Each PDF file contains a description of the course, teacher expectations and teacher contact information.  You can access a teacher's syllabus by selecting DEPARTMENT in the left pane to display a list of the academic departments.  From there, select the department, the teacher requested and then, from his/her teaching schedule, click on the course title to display the syllabus.

Teacher of the Year Awards

Presented annually at the Senior Scholarship Night ceremony (Honor's Night), the Morgan Distinguished Teacher of the Year and the Strauss Distingushed Teacher of the Year honor faculty members for their distinguished work as a member of the faculty.

Faculty Scholarships

Each year the faculty and staff at Omaha North High Magnet School raises funds to provide scholarships to the current graduating class.  The first fundraiser is the Jeans Day Scholarship.  Our second fundraiser is selling concessions at the Vern Ekfelt Wrestling Invitational held in December.  The scholarship committee is thankful to everyone who participates in the fundraisers!  We are also grateful to individuals and groups who donate to the fund.
