Welcome to Ms. Koch's Class

Welcome to Room 19! My name is Ms. Koch and it is my second year at Western Hills Magnet Center. I am beginning my Masters in Reading this summer at our partnership UNO. I am receiving my masters in reading, which will be great because in 3rd grade we take the Buro's reading test.

If you need to contact me my e-mail is: rachelle.koch@ops.org
Also you can call me at school: 554-1510

Student Planner

Your child will have a Student Planner that will be brought home daily. Inside you will find weekly Spelling List, homework, and reminders. This is an excellent way to see what your child did in school for the day, to get messages back and forth, and send home any forms that need a parent’s signature. Also, it will have school activities, expeditions, and field trips
. The planner needs to be initialed each night by a parent or adult!

Homework

Students should read EVERY night! **Let them read to you and you read to them! Discuss what you read.**
Practice spelling words ad complete weekly spelling assignments.
Review Math Facts with flashcards.

Other assignments will be assigned on an as needed basis. LOOK for them in your child's student planner.

Supplies
All needed learning supplies are supplied for your child by the District. Here is a wish list (optional):

  • 2 Kleenex boxes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Markers
