Welcome

Standing Bear Elementary School is located at 15860 Taylor Street, and meets the needs of the students of northwest Omaha. The facility was built in 2005 and is named after Ponca Chief Standing Bear. The school offers programs in Gifted and Talented, Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Speech to its approximately 575 students in pre-kindergarten through fourth grades.

The Standing Bear Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, Adopt-A-School Partners, and parents provide volunteer and financial resources for academic and extracurricular opportunities. Strong support from parents, staff, and the community, help support excellence in education.

Standing Bear's staff is committed to creating a positive atmosphere for academic, social, and behavioral success for all students. Through differentiated instruction, students are learning to become life-long learners.
