What We Learn in Fifth Grade Music
Minimize

First Quarter
    Sing a diatonic song with pitch accuracy
    Sing from a varied repertoire of songs using the head voice
    Sing partner songs and countermelodies
    Identify and demonstrate ti in various patterns
    Play a steady beat on an instrument (alone)
    Play the rhythm of a known song using known rhythms
    Use standard symbols, dynamic and tempo markings
    Demonstrate fluency with mallet instruments
    Perform folk dances including all known figures

Second Quarter
    Sing a diatonic song with pitch accuracy
    Sing from a varied repertoire of songs using the head voice
    Sing partner songs and countermelodies
    Identify and demonstrate tim-ri and ri-tim
    Use standard symbols, dynamic and tempo markings
    Demonstrate fluency with mallet instruments
    Perform folk dances including reel the set

Third Quarter   
    Sing a diatonic song with pitch accuracy
    Sing from a varied repertoire of songs using the head voice
    Sing two-part songs
    Identify rondo form
    Use standard symbols, dynamic and tempo markings
    Demonstrate fluency with mallet instruments
    Perform folk dances including colonial and contra dances

Fourth Quarter
    Sing a diatonic song with pitch accuracy
    Sing from a varied repertoire of songs using the head voice
    Sing two-part songs
    Identify individual instruments and vocal voicings
    Use standard symbols, dynamic and tempo markings
    Demonstrate fluency with mallet instruments
    Perform folk dances including colonial and contra dances
