Welcome to Skinner Magnet Center.  My name is Ms. Opava and I am a visual arts specialist.  I have taught art at Skinner since it opened in 1996.  This year I will be teaching third grade through sixth grade students.  We will begin the year with a school-wide mural project in honor of Omaha Public Schools 150th anniversary.  Our mural will be inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds, in which an art student discovers how far "making her mark" can take her.  Students will each create a square that illustrates how they will make their own mark here at Skinner this year.  These squares will be assembled to form a mural that will be on display for all to enjoy for many years to come.
