Sherman Elementary, named for General William Tecumseh Sherman, is located at 5618 N 14th Avenue. The current Sherman building was built in 1927 and was remodeled in 2004.
As a school with an academy program, Sherman boasts small class sizes of approximately 16 students in primary classes and 18 students in the intermediate classes. Currently, Sherman Elementary is home to approximately 248 students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Two Resource teachers and two English as Second Language teachers assist in meeting the needs of all students. 45 staff members work together to meet the needs of the students at Sherman Elementary.
