Prairie Wind Elementary serves approximately 800 students in kindergarten through grade six.

The mission of Prairie Wind Elementary is to open the doors of opportunity for student success through the highest standards in academics and citizenship.

Scientific Process and Application
Reading
Student Self-Discipline
Computer and Technology Skills

The school mascot is the stallion and the school colors are purple, silver and black.

Prairie Wind is an active participant in the Adopt-a-School program with such varied partners as Maplewood Lanes, Burger King, Data Support Systems, Blimpies and HyVee.

Prairie Wind is also proud of its active, supportive PTA that promotes the welfare of Prairie Wind staff, students and the Prairie Wind community.
