The spelling program I use is called Sitton Spelling. It uses the most common words in our spoken and written langauge. Children need to know more than just the correct way to spell the word. They also need to know the correct usage of the word and incorporate when to use capital letters in a paragraph. The words spiral throughout the program. Each week five new focus words are introduced. The other words are previously learned words.
