The Winners Circle program developed in 1996 from an "Adopt-a-School" relationship between Cookie and Jerry Hoberman, owners of Tires, Inc., and Belvedere Academy.  The key elements of the program are based upon the incentive system of setting goals and recognizing goal achievment applied by Mr. Hoberman at his business, Tires, Inc. The Winners Circle Program works to improve the academic achievement and citizenship of students in participating elementary schools by encouraging and rewarding students' achievement in reading, math and citizenship through a program of setting goals, celebrating and rewarding goal ahchievement; promoting parents' and guardians involvement in their students' education; fostering school cohesiveness, identity and pride.
