Hello Second Grade Students!  You have been doing such a great job this year.  To keep up the good work  here are some things that you and your family could be working on at home!

 

 Great math ideas that you can do at home!

    *Adding Double Digits!                                                
    *Work on telling time on an analog and digital clock.
    *Start counting coins.  Beginning with pennies and nickles.
    *Work on the triangle flashcards to help with fact families.

 

Practice your Spelling words for the Week!

    *On Monday: Write the words.
    *On Tuesday: Write, Copy, and Remember your words. 
    *On Wednesday: Write a sentence for each spelling word.
    *On Thursday: Practice your words for your test!
    *On Friday: You can take your the words you have learned and write a story                          with them!

Book It!

   For the month of October we began doing Book It in the classroom. All            student were awarded a personal pizza for reading 20 minutes during the school day for the month of October!  For the rest of the year, please have your child read for 20 minutes a night.  They should have brought home a Book It reading log with the return date on top!  Enjoy reading!
