Kennedy Elementary is located at 2906 North 30th Street. The current building was built in 1916 and is named for the first educator to establish a public school system in Omaha. Kennedy Elementary will be completely renovated under the provision of an extensive bond issue approved by voters. Kennedy Elementary currently serves children in kindergarten through the sixth grade in classrooms that boast small class sizes. Kennedy is proud to have the services of an instructional facilitator as well as classes for English as a Second Language, speech therapy, and special education. Kennedy Elementary also has a computer laboratory and a staff of caring and committed teachers. Student achievement continues to be an important goal. Therefore, teachers work closely with the students to insure that each child is challenged to do his or her best each day in a safe, secure, learning environment.
