What is the Honorary Joslyn Achievement Award?
The Joslyn P.T.O. anually awards the Honorary Joslyn Achievement Award. This award has taken the place of the P.T.A. State Life Award that was given from 1979 through 2007 when Joslyn was part of the National P.T.A. It is awarded under the same guidelines that the P.T.A. State Life Award was given. Each year the Joslyn P.T.A. honored individuals with the highest tribute that could be given to a person associated with Joslyn Elementary School. The P.T.A. State Life Award was truly a privilege to receive. It reflected outstanding service given to the children of the school. Those individuals to whom this great honor was bestowed upon, gave of themselves without hesitation, to promote the well-being of Joslyn's children. They were advocates for youth in such areas as education, health and safety. This was not an award that a person tried for, it was given to someone that gave directly from the heart because they deeply care about the youth they serve.
Just as the P.T.A. State Life Award could only be received once in an individual's lifetime, the Honorary Joslyn Achievement Award can only be received once in an individual's lifetime. Therefore, the following current staff members are unable to be nominated again:
