Welcome to First Grade!

It will be an exciting year of learning!

In reading we will continue to review the letters and sounds of the alphabet and learn to sound and  blend

the letters to make words. The students will enjoy participating in Animated Alphabet, a program which reinforces

the learning of the alphabet through singing, actions, and books. Students will also participate in guided reading

groups, where students read at their own instructional level.

 

In math the students will learn how to add and subtract. Students will use manipulatives, games and other activities

in order to become proficient. Students will also be counting, graphing,telling time, and counting money.
