EXCELS 2005-2010
The current School Improvement plan, EXCELS 2005-2010 was recently reviewed by our District team and is an ongoing process with all school committees focusing on identified strategies and goals.
Summer of 2007 was the beginning of a new core team. The new Principal, Instructional Facilitator, ESL Resource teacher, and other members of the Jackson staff reviewed the data and information, updating the EXCELS strategy plan. Reading/Writing, Mathematics, SSDS (Safe Secure Disciplined Schools), and a Wellness plan lay the foundation for the balanced education plan. The plan focuses on improving achievement for all students.
This school year, 2007-2008 is designed to Implement and Monitor Action Plans. The staff is participating in a well designed Professional Development Plan seeking to meet the needs of all learners. Interactive Reading and Writing is an expectation of staff and students.
The EXCELS Plan and Review of Data target dates will allow Jackson to stay focused on serving the current population. It is vital that school goals reflect the current service plan and Jackson is dedicated to that effort
Goal 1:
Students will read, write, speak, listen and interpret visual presentations to meet expectations, grade level and above.
Goal 2:
Students will apply mathematics and science skills, concepts and processes, which are relevant and important in everyday life and advanced studies to meet expectations, grade level and above.
Goal 3:
Students will demonstrate respect and responsibility for each other in the learning environment and school activities.
