Field Club Elementary is fortunate to be associated with a number of community and business organizations. These groups work together with the school to provide our students (and staff) with exciting activities and programs they might not have the opportunity to experience.

OMAHA THEATER FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Field Club is partnered with the Rose Performing Arts in the "Every Single Child!" program. This program offers a wide variety of exciting arts programming including theater and dance workshops as well as live productions presented either at Field Club or at The Rose. Every grade level is involved. Each grade level is given two performance options. Field Club's participation in this program is sponsored by the Omaha Schools Foundation.

UNION PACIFIC 'LEAD' PARTNERSHIP

A group of Union Pacific personnel regularly volunteer their time and services at Field Club Elementary. School activities for the 2006-2007 school year included:

  • Mentoring Program: Teams partnered with six different classrooms and spent time reading, being read to or working with students on instructional activities. The team spent clocked over 200 hours at Field club.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: The team provided a continental breakfast, treats, and door prizes for the staff during both first and third quarter conferences. Some of the team members also assisted with translating for some of our Spanish speaking families.
  • Halloween Party: Members of the team helped chaperone in the classrooms. They also collected costumes for students. Over 50 costumes were donated this past year.
  • Children's Clothing Drive: A clothing drive was held in October through November to collect mittens and other winter wear for Field Club students.
  • Christmas Adoption: LEAD adopted and provided Christmas gifts to a single-parent family at Field Club.
  • Book Drive: Books were collected and given to the students in the classes that participated in the mentoring program. In addition to their own donations, LEAD secured a donation from Scholastic Books.
  • Box Top and Hy-Vee Receipt Collection: LEAD has an on going effort to collect General Mills "Box Tops for Education" and Hy-Vee receipts for Field Club.

BANK OF NEBRASKA

Every Wednesday during the school year, a representative from the Bank of Nebraska is in the commons area during the students' morning arrival. The Bank of Nebraska assists students in setting up a savings account and then accepting deposits on Wednesday mornings. The bank also provides educational materials and also participated in our Math and Science Family Night.

WINNERS CIRCLE

Field Club Elementary is the newest OPS building to be a participant in the Winners Circle Program. The Winners Circle Program was developed in 1996 from an Adopt-a-School relationship between Cookie and Jerry Hoberman, owners of Tires, Inc., and Belvedere Academy. The Winners Circle Program works to improve the academic achievement and citizenship of students by:

  • encouraging and rewarding students' achievement in reading, math, and citizenship through a program of setting goals, celebrating and rewarding goal achievement
  • promoting parents' and guardians' involvement in their students' education
  • fostering school cohesivement, identity and pride

Field Club Elementary is proud to be a part of this exciting and rewarding program.
