a. Secretary’s Report – Meeting minutes from previous meeting were reviewed. Pat Schweer motioned to approve. Motion was seconded by Kelly Schroeder.
b. Treasurer’s Report - Virginia was not present. There was not a lot of activity. Budget is in pretty good shape so far. Pizza charge should be under Staff/Hospitality. Ask Virginia where that is. Budget was approved as read. Clay Schroeder motioned for approval. Laura Salter seconded.
III. Standing and Special Committee Reports
a. Committee Chair Openings –We are okay on committee chair except for field day. Need to call volunteers in Mid-April and get popsicles. Lupe Perez has volunteered. Carnival still needs a concessions chair.
b. Adopt a School – Lauri Roberts took artwork to Bag N Save and is continuing to take artwork out to other partners as well.
c. Community Events – Skating party was a good time. Lots of kids. Godfathers closing update. There are no other close corporate locations. They are franchises. Look for other places such as Fernando’s, Good Cents, Gandolfos. Gandolfo’s has offered 10% of sales for the evening but size of location is a concern. Try something for March 4th?
d. Box Tops / Labels – We got a check from BoxTops, another deadline is at the end of February. $147 in OfficeMax rewards. Our Family – wait to turn in until the beginning of the year as we get a bigger reward.
e. Yearbook 2009/2010 – Rachel Smith reports that all is on track for March 1.
f. Cookbook – Very few recipes received – maybe something to consider for next year.
g. Valentine’s Day Parties – Feb 12th is now a full day of school so parties will be at 230 p.m. Cookies and pop will be provided to each room.
h. Book Fair - Sign up sheet for volunteers was sent around. Read & Feed is always busy and could use help. List of lunchtimes should be sent to parents.
i. Teacher’s Meal – Lunch & Supper is provided. Sign up sheet sent around. Pizza from PTO for supper. Sandy Manion will do set up again. Teacher Appreciation Breakfast is March 2. Sign up for casserole ,pastry, bev etc….
j. International Dinner – Set for March 18th. Rosenda and her mom will coordinate the Spanish side. 350 people are expected. Enchilada or taco bar? Tacos would be better but more work that night. $250 budget that night could be used to buy meat for enchiladas? 80-100 pounds needed. Drinks, plates, napkins will also be needed. Ask BNS for special rate on meat? No ovens at Crestridge. Prep time would be Sat around 1 p.m. Rebecca and Caren are getting a flyer together.
k. Spring Fundraiser – Cookie dough or chocolate bunnies? 336 tubs of dough get 40%, under is 35%. $5.60 or $4.90. Tubs are $11 or $13. Cookie dough takes 8 days to get here. Bunnies are probably not worth it as we only sold $300 worth in the past. When should we sell the cookies? Order forms will go out March 19 and are due April 5th. Samples available at the international dinner? Turn in a recipe card for a raffle for cookie dough?
l. Carnival – Ask folks for homemade items for the silent auction/raffle? Try to get one big raffle prize? Class memory book? Basket communication sent. Concession chair still needed.
V. Principal’s Report – Class pictures are March 4th. Mrs. Anderson has a student teacher Mrs. Harmon who is now going to be a teacher associate. She is guaranteed a job next year and is working with classrooms on language skills.
V. Teachers’ Report –
Mrs. Anderson – 3rd grade is going on a fieldtrip that was cancelled due to weather to the Mormon Trail and Imax. Just finished type to learn. I teach the science, Mrs. Freyeremuth has social studies.
