The New School Year Has Dawned!  A beautiful opportunity for learning and growing.  It is exciting to be a community of 21st Century learners in Rooms 206 and 208. We have a lot to learn from one another!  Let's enjoy the journey together!

Please explore our site.  You will find educational resources and links to help your child be successful this year.  Daily Homework, curriculum resources, and games are a few of the things you can find.  Please contact us if you have any questions.

Due to teacher work days students will have a shortened school week.  No school on Friday, September 25, or Monday September 28.  Please see the homework due on Tuesday September 29.

Math - multiplication flash card practice - daily

Social Studies - Students need to research at least 3 arts, customs and tools used by Native Americans and be prepared to share their results with the class on Tuesday, Sept. 29.  They may use the internet, books, or other resources.

Language Arts - Vocabulary Practice -  Vocabulary test on Thursday this week.  Study your words 1-244 to help prepare for the test.  Students should study the four vocabulary focus words each night.  Definitions are found on the Vocabulary packet that you recieved at Open House or the one your student received on the following day.

Read - 30 min. or more and log minutes on Book Log.  Don't forget to write your summary. Parents/Guardians please initial the Book Log for each day.  Friday does not show up on the Book Log; it is considered part of the Weekend.  Students may choose which weekend day they would like to read.

Spelling/Word Work - Study your spelling words 1-500 for our first test coming up over Unit 1.  The test can occur on any day of the week.  The words are randomly selected so be prepared.

Parents please determine how you will have your child study the vocabulary and spelling words.

Thank you,

Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Cotton
