Adopt-A-School Bag N'Save Melissa Jackson  We collect Our Family brand labels and Land O Lakes milk container lids.
Adopt-A-School Bookworm and
Scholastic Book Fairs

Adopt-A-School Bruegger's Shawn Bonge  Bruegger's will donate bagels for teacher meetings and coupons.
Adopt-A-School HyVee Kathleen Bock  Kathleen Bock is the liaison for Hy-Vee purchases.  Everything must go through her.
Adopt-A-School Wenninghoff Judy Willour  There is an October Family Fun Night here that includes Hayrack Ride/Pumpkin Patch and much more.
Back-to-School Night Robin Purchas  The committee organizes root beer floats and cookies for all the families coming back to Columbian.
Changing Marquee Beth Andersen  Volunteers change the marquee sign out front of the school whenever needed.
Class/Individual Photos Erin Faber  Individual photos are taken in October.  Class photos are taken in the spring.
Directory Production Sue Violi/Linda Zimmerman  
Discovery Fair Priya Srinivasan  Science Fair occuring in February.
Entertainment Book Fundraiser Melissa Jackson/Sharon Kirshenbaum  
4PC (6th Grade) Angela Boychuk/Christine Williams-Friedman  This committee works with the 6th grade students/families.  Activities include fundraising, gift to school at end of year, 12 hours/student of volunteer work, speakers for 6th graders.
Fall Fundraiser Janice Japp The Fall fundraiser is a fundraiser featuring RedApple- Otis Spunkmeyer.  Students are given exciting incentives to sell these products which include everything from cookie dough to wrapping paper.
Foreign Language-Classroom Deb Zandt  The classroom foreign language program offers fun Spanish, French, German, Russian and Japanese classes before/after school during the first semester. 
Foreign Language-Rosetta Stone Melissa Sherlock  This foreign language program is an internet based learning tool available for 3rd-6th graders.
Fun Day Judy Willour  Fun Day takes place in the spring.  All students participate in a half-day program of fun games and activities.
Great Books Barb Shonsey  This program is designed for 2nd-6th graders.  Students read stories from the Great Book curriculum and participate in group discussion before/after school.
GROW Sirena Sedat/Çhris Schlagenhauff  This committee organizes maintance for the school gardens and yard.
Historian JeriLyn Frisbie  The Historian takes and collects photos of school-related events and compiles them into an album at the end of the year.  The 2006-2007 album is a printed digital scrapbook that can be checked out of the library.
Hospitality Melissa Jackson/Barb Shonsey  This committee provides treats for the teachers and staff each week.
Hummel Park Registration Beth Grace  Registration for the day camp occurs in the spring.  Hummel Park is open to 2nd-6th graders and Columbian can enroll up to 75 students.
KAIR Lynn Murray/Paula Ruh  KAIR stands for Kindergarten Aids in Reading.  It is a program that reinforces kindergarten skills.  Parent volunteers are needed twice a week.
Kindergarten Roundup Lynn Cardey  This committee organizes a day for incoming kindergarten students.

Memory Book Shawn Bonge  This is a photobook of the year's activities and classes.
Pancakes and Authors Melissa Garner  This is a fun family night with the Pancake Man and a chance to see some wonderful writings by the students.
Pathway to Reading MariAnne Hartmann  Purchase a brick for the reading garden and support the school at the same time!
Reading Connections Erin Faber/Patty Gilinsky  This is an at-home reading activity for kindergarten students.  Students take home a bag filled with at least 3 books and correlating activity.  Volunteers are needed each week to refill the bags.
Room Parent Patty Gilinsky  Room Parents work with other classroom volunteers to plan the Halloween and Valentine's Parties.
Scholarship Mary Beth Holmes  A past Columbian student is awarded a $500 scholarship from PTO each year.
Skateland Parties Amie Rolfes  These are fun family nights at SkateDaze throughout the school year.
Spirit Sales Judy Willour  Spirit Wear is t-shirts and sweatshirts with a Columbian theme to support our school.  They are available for sale at various events.
Spring Family Carnival Priya Srinivasan  The carnival is a fun, family night including games and pizza.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lynn Murry/Paula Ruh  Teacher Appreciation Day is held the 1st Tuesday of March.  We recognize the teachers and support staff with a special luncheon and the students make cards to show their appreciation.
Welcoming Lynn Cardey  First time kindergarten parents will be contacted to help them feel welcome at the school.
