Adopt-A-School Bag N'Save Melissa Jackson Collect labels of “Our Family” products for fundraising
Adopt-A-School Bruegger's Shawn Bonge Fundraising opportunities; other incentives and donations to benefit the school
Adopt-A-School HyVee Christy Carpino Coordinate collection of receipts from purchases as a fundraiser. Work with store and other school committees to organize donations for school functions
Adopt-A-School Wenninghoff Judy Willour There is an October Family Fun Night here that includes Hayrack Ride/Pumpkin Patch and much more.
Back-to-School Night Heidi Newman The committee organizes root beer floats and cookies for all the families coming back to Columbian.
Scholastic Book Fair Lynn Cardey Coordinate, setup, and run the book fair during conference days.
Class/Individual Photos Erin Faber Coordinate individual photos of students and staff in the fall; organize “retake day” later in the fall; coordinate group photo day + more individual photos in the 2nd semester.
Directory Production Sue Violi Coordinate collection of directory information including permission to publish; organize publishing at the beginning of school. 
Discovery Fair Priya Srinivasan Organize a fun, non-competitive event for students to display projects related to science, math and technology
4PC (6th Grade) Jenny Washer Parent Peer Prevention Power Club – Coordinate activities for 6th graders to develop their skills in decision-making and community service. Speakers, safety-patrol, end-of-school farewell party; fundraising for their activities.
Fundraiser Patty Gilinsky The fundraiser is a direct donation fundraiser
Foreign Language-Classroom Deb Zandt Extra-Curricular (non-graded) foreign language classes held before or after school. Classes held in the fall. Foreign Language festival on an evening in December.
Foreign Language-Rosetta Stone Melissa Sherlock This foreign language program is an internet based learning tool available for 3rd-6th graders.
Fun Day Judy Willour  Fun Day takes place in the spring.  All students participate in a half-day program of fun games and activities.
Great Books Marcy Browning This program is designed for 2nd-6th graders.  Students read stories from the Great Book curriculum and participate in group discussion before/after school.
GROW   Growing Roots of Wisdom. Garden activities for class rooms, including a spring planting week. Maintain outdoor school gardens, including during summer months
Historian JeriLyn Frisbie The Historian takes and collects photos of school-related events and compiles them into an album at the end of the year.  The 2008-2009 album is a printed digital scrapbook that can be checked out of the library.
Hospitality Melissa Jackson Coordinate weekly “cookie jar” for staff. Plan meal for teachers during Conferences and last teacher workday
Hummel Park Registration Beth Grace Registration on 1 day for OPS sponsored summer camp.
KAIR Lynn Murray Kindergarten Aids in Reading. Coordinate volunteers for individual activities to develop school-readiness
Kindergarten Roundup Lynn Cardey Organize a brief orientation for parents and kindergartners-to-be; usually held in March.
Label Collection Michelle Moser Fundraiser, collecting Campbell’s and General Mills labels to purchase materials and equipment for school. 
Membership Jane Parry Collect memberships for the PTO.
Memory Book Shawn Bonge Produce and distribute a year-end memory book, which families may purchase. Contains individual, class and candid photos.
Pancakes and Authors Melissa Garner This is a fun family night with the Pancake Man and a chance to see some wonderful writings by the students.
Pathway to Reading Denise Pfeifer Organize orders of personalized, engraved bricks for school’s reading garden
Reading Connections Jill Schwarzenbach This is an at-home reading activity for kindergarten students.  Students take home a bag filled with at least 3 books and correlating activity.  Volunteers are needed each week to refill the bags.
Room Parent Patty Gilinsky Chairperson organizes parent volunteer to host parties in each classroom for Halloween and Valentine’s day.
Scholarship Mary Beth Holmes Chooses a past Columbian student who is graduating from High School to receive a scholarship gift.
Skateland Parties ??? These are fun family nights at SkateDaze throughout the school year.
Spirit Sales Melissa Garner Spirit Wear is t-shirts and sweatshirts with a Columbian theme to support our school.  They are available for sale at various events.
Carnival Priya Srinivasan The carnival is a fun, family night including games and pizza.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lynn Murry Recognize teachers with a luncheon during March’s Teacher Appreciation Week. Recognize Support Staff during April.
