Mission Statement
Staff at Columbian Elementary School is
dedicated to providing the best possible learning environment for each
child. The school will foster academic, physical, and life skills
necessary to acquire an appreciation of individual worth and
contributions of other people in a democratic society.
We believe:

• Our teachers are professional educators committed teaching to the Nebraska State Standards.
• Strong parent involvement is an important factor in a student's school success.

principal provides leadership for a positive school climate that
encourages optimum learning and teaching conditions for all students
and staff.
• Students will develop a strong moral character,
appreciation, respect for the rights and values of all people, a love
of home and country.
• Teachers are committed to providing multicultural, nonsexist lessons to students.
• Students
are responsible for their own learning and put forth maximum academic
effort toward daily learning in and out of the classroom.
