Columbian School is located at 330 South 127 Street in Omaha. Students are served in kindergarten through sixth grade. Gifted and talented and special education resource programs supplement the regular classroom instruction. While valuing and maintaining traditional approaches to instruction, the academic program for students is greatly enhanced with the incorporation of computer technology and enrichment activities. The cooperative partnerships of teachers, parents, businesses, and community members have produced human and financial resources that support the academic and social endeavors of Columbian School. True to its mission, the Columbian School staff is dedicated to providing the best possible learning environment for each child. This mission serves as the foundation for providing educational opportunities that will foster the acquisition of academic, physical, and life skills necessary for each child to learn to his or her highest potential.
Clash of the Golden Sowers
The Clash of the Golden Sowers is a "Battle of the Books" style reading competition for intermediate students, using the Golden Sower nominees for 2008-2009. This annual contest is coordinated by Mrs. Nicholson and Mrs. Carruthers. The competition took place Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 in the gym. Team Gold won first place with 48 points. Congratulations to ALL contestants! YOU ARE ALL WINNERS!!
