PTO
What is PTO?
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. This is a group of parents and teachers working together to enhance your child's learning experience at Chandler View.
What does PTO do for the children at Chandler View?
The PTO is always working to provide for our children and teachers. Here are some ways your PTO dollars are at work.
• PTO purchased 9 more digital cameras and 4 video cameras for student and teacher use.
• They provide Chandler View t-shirts for all new kindergartners.
• PTO provides treats for two school wide parties each year.
• Sponsors the following yearly events:
Classroom fieldtrips
Sixth grade picnic
Dare graduation
Sixth grade graduation
5th / 6th grade sock hop
• Host bi-annual book fairs which provides more books for classrooms and our library.
How can I join PTO and help my school?
Membership is only $2.00 per person. During Open House there will be sign up sheets for volunteers to work on different committees. Please take some time to review what PTO does. Any time you have to offer to help with a variety of projects will be welcomed.
How does PTO acquire the necessary funds to sponsor so many projects?
Fundraisers. This year we will be selling candybars and tamales. We will be targeting some school needs and having fundraisers for that specific purpose. As needs arise we may add other money making events. Please support our school and review the fundraiser booth during special school events.
Every month the PTO organizes family outings at Skate City and Don & Millie's. Both are located in Bellevue and a percentage of the evenings sales go to help support our school.
We also collect Box Tops for Education. They are located on the packages of General Mills products. Look for the symbol below and send them to school with your child. There is a collection container in each classroom.
