Welcome Catlin Arts Magnet PTA

Catlin Magnet Center has a strong history of parent support.  The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a vital part of our school.  Through special student activities, family events, and fundraisers, the PTA helps create a supportive, community atmosphere for our Catlin students.  The PTA also generously supports the staff members with classroom grants and teacher appreciation activities.

The PTA welcomes all parents and caregivers to participate in making Catlin a great school. This page is designed to provide information for those who are interested in becoming active in Catlin's PTA. There are many ways to contribute your time and talents.  Please take a moment to browse through the information below and see how you can be a part of the Catlin PTA.

Who can join PTA?

Parents, caregivers, and staff members are encouraged to become members.  Anyone can join the PTA.

What does it cost to join and how do I join?

The cost is a $7.00 donation per person.  You can send the money to the school office with a note attached detailing what the money is for.  The PTA will then send a membership card home with your student.

When and where are the meetings?

The Catlin PTA meets the second Monday of each month except for December and May.  All meetings are at 6:30 p.m. in the Catlin library.  You are welcome to attend even if you are not a member.

I can't attend meetings, but I want to help.  How do I learn if my help is needed?

There are numerous PTA functions that need volunteers throughout the year.  Committee chairpersons are needed to organize events.  Many times, organizing events can be done at home in your spare time.  If you are interested in helping, please call any PTA officer or the school office for details.  Even if you volunteer for only one event during the school year, your help is appreciated!

What are the different ways that I can be involved in Catlin's PTA?

The PTA provideds financial support to students and teachers through fundraisers.  Without the PTA volunteers, fundraisers could not happen.  The Catlin PTA holds a variety of fundraisers throughout the year including a fall carnival,  product sales and a book fair.  There are many ways you can contribute your time and some work may be done at home.  Also, you can be a room parent and have fun hosting holiday parties.  Finally, the PTA supports the staff members at Catlin by providing meals for teachers throughout the year.  Baking and set-up help is always needed and appreciated.

Please consider being a part of Catlin's PTA.  As a group, the Catlin PTA has always prided itself on being a strong support to our students and their teachers.  Over the years, the PTA has bought many things for teachers to use as tools to help educate our students.  Technology is one area that the PTA always tries to improve so our students can get the most our of their education. Your time and commitment makes a difference.  Make the choice to join Catlin's PTA today!
