Extra Value Art-Grades 2-6

Students in grades 2-6 have a special media focus:

Students learn the basic knowledge, vocabulary, skills, techniques and processes related to each media.  During the year, artists from our community come to Catlin and work with students to create individual and group projects.

Kindergarten and First grade also participate in special projects.  In October, artist Tom Sitzman energized students with a workshop on sculpture and movement.  Students participated in several movement exercises in the gym.  They created sculptures with their bodies and then later with boxes!  Sitzman also brought examples of his own art for students to see.  Catlin has a sculpture by Sitzman located next to our playground.
