How to choose a
"Just Right" book!

In the Castelar Library we are learning to find “Just Right” books that we can read by using the “Five Finger Rule.” A student should choose a book and read a page or two. They should put up one finger for every word they don’t know. If they have 4-5 fingers up then they should find another book, because that book is too hard. If they have no fingers up then the book is too easy. A “Just Right” book would be a book where the student has only 2-3 fingers up. Remember, we need to read every day to become and stay a good reader.
