The mission of Beals Elementary School is to provide educational opportunities which enable all students to achieve to their fullest potential in a global society.

..CRT= AYP
All Omaha Public School students are taking grade level test called Criterion Referenced Test (CRT). The student results on the CRT’s determine if a school has met standards. The NCLB (No Child Left Behind) school law states that all schools must meet the math standards with 81% proficiency and 83% proficiency in reading. With that said, I want to personally thank all our Beals Bobcat parents for their continued support in making sure that your child gets adequate rest each night and comes to school with their “thinking caps on each day! THANK YOU!
Welcome
Ms. Kendra Smith is our newest member of the Beals Professional Learning Team. She works with third grade students and assists due to large class sizes.
Safe Secure Disciplined Schools
WE have a leadership team that consist of parents, teachers, the PAC facilitator, the counselor and the principal. The team meets to review, update and discuss best practices in teaching students to be responsible and respectful in the school environment,
(as noted in our EXCELS PLUS school improvement plan) We are so excited because we just started a new ticket program that consist of students earning Beals Bobcat tickets for being safe, respectful and responsible here at school. They can earn tickets for completion of work, helping a friend, using “please” and “thank-you,” to name a few.
Kindergarten Round Up
Do you have a student at home that will be the age of 5 by October 15th, 2008? We will enroll our new kindergartners on March 13, 2008. Please bring with you two of the following: an MUD bill, OPPD bill, or a lease agreement, we will also need the original birth certificate, and immunization records. We will have very important student information forms that need to be filled out. If you are interested in receiving the forms early so you can fill them out and bring them to our school visit,
please contact our secretary, Mrs. Chartier, 554-8570. |

Please require that your student participate in the Beals Daily Three:
1. Reads to him/herself
2. Reads aloud to someone
3. Listens to someone reading
The more students read the better readers they become!
Beals Bobcat Parents
Our busses use the alley for dismissal, can you assist us by not using the alley between 3:30 and 4:00. Otherwise, you will get stuck between the busses-NO FUN!
Beals Star Book Club
For the second quarter we had a number of Book Club members that met their goal. We had a lot of fun with Bubble gum, Bingo and a free mini-pizza to Godfather’s. Each student will have a chance to meet
their goal again for third quarter. Your child will be bringing home the Bobcat Book Club sheet today.
Your child can reach their goal if they are reading nightly. When their goal has been met just return the sheet with your signature to verify that the student has read the required number of books or pages.
